This dissertation derives restrictions on an agent's behavior from invariance principles, in particular, from the requirement that an agent's choices be independent of the units of measurement. It is shown that invariance principles are sufficient for approximating an agent's behavior in environments where little information is available. Strong restrictions on admissible shape of tails of the posterior distribution of an unknown variable are derived. For the case of independently and identically distributed draws, closed form solution for the family of tails of posterior distribution is

The United States has witnessed a dramatic increase in per capita consumption of wheat flour since 1970. The increase is seen in all six major classes produced, including hard red winter, hard red spring, soft red winter, soft white, hard white, and durum wheat. This has heightened the need for research on the price responsiveness within and between wheat classes. To quantify price responsiveness, derived demand functions were estimated for wheat by class. Three derived demand functions were specified and estimated. First, a double-log model was estimated using both ordinary least squar

The objective of this study is to examine the financial characteristics of farmers in North Central Kansas and to relate this to the number of and types of lender that they choose to use. Specifically, the study is concerned with analyzing the changes, if any, of the use of nontraditional lenders such as John Deer and Case credit. To meet this objective, econometric analysis was used to determine which farm characteristics affect the market share of loans that different lenders have and how this has changed over time. Two sets of Tobit models were developed to analyze the types of instit
