This research examines a whether a team-based marketing department impacts the positive performance of an organization. It examines whether organizations are better able understand its customers, competitors and its environment, and have the mechanisms in place to react quickly to changes in its environment. The market-orientation theory was used to examine this theory and was found to be mediate the team-performance relationship. This study was conducted in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry. This dissertation represents the only historical study to date to recount the history of the War on Poverty in Texas. The study describes the dimensions of poverty in the state in the mid-twentieth century; explains the development of the various programs of the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO), the primary anti-poverty agency of the Johnson administration; and traces how these programs were put into practice in Texas.

The Economic Impacts of the Texas Wine and Wine Grape Industry in the State’s Economy. Wine grape growing and wine making in Texas have taken place for over three hundred years. In 1900, Texas had 20 to 30 wineries, but the majority of these did not survive prohibition. By the late 1960s, only one winery remained operating in the state. In early-to-mid 1970s, wine grape growing and wine making activities experienced a rebirth in the state. In this dissertation I examine the educational trajectories of a group that has been neglected in recent educational research: white working-class students. Rather than comparing these students to middle-class students, as has been done in past research, I compare the students by their outcomes, examining the differences between those working-class students who attain high school diplomas only, those who pursue associate's degrees, and those who pursue bachelor's degrees. This study sought to determine whether social class contributed to differences in moral justifications and moral decision-making. The study also sought to determine whether particular situational variables, namely the nature of the relationship between individuals depicted in a moral dilemma and the severity of the grievance depicted in a moral dilemma, had an influence upon moral decision-making and moral justifications. The key premise underlying this work is that different relationships carry with them specific norms of behavior. Three experiments tested the general hypothesis that consumers' brand evaluations are guided by the norms of consumer-brand relationships. The Government of Senegal is attempting to liberalize the groundnut market. In the past, this market was highly regulated with government-set producer prices, groundnut oil processing mills owned by parastatals, and requirements that all groundnuts be sold to these quasi-governmental organizations. Bridge forecasts of the information contained in the USDA Сattle on Feed (CO F) report (cattle on feed, placements, and marketings) from 36 private industry analysts and a composite forecast were evaluated to determine an appropriate proxy for anticipated information. The majority of forecasts were unbiased and nearly all were efficient. Unbiasedness and efficiency were rejected most often for marketings forecasts and least often for placements forecasts.
