Main research themes:

Trade unions: the role of union officials and shop stewards; the impact of unions on labour productivity; labour market flexibility.

"New industrial relations": privatisation and industrial relations; payment systems and performance; and profit related pay.

The two themes are analysed at both the level of the firm and the industry. They involve case studies and statistical methods.
