Ulrike Muehlberger is a researcher at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), specialising in labour market research. She has previously been a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (currently on leave). She studied Economics, Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute (Florence), the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, the London School of Economics, the University of Vienna and the University of Constance. She was a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute (Florence), Harvard University, the International Center for Economic Research (Turin), the University of Essex and the Centre for Population, Poverty and Public Policy Studies (Luxembourg). Her research interests are Labour Market Studies, Gender and Work, and Organisation Studies. She has published in learned journals, holds several research prizes and is the author of the book ‘Dependent Self-employment. Workers on the Border between Employment and Selfemployment’ (Palgrave/Macmillan, October 2007).
