attempts to clarify links between organized crime phenomenon and that of criminal
terrorism - a recent
development on the rise. Basing his deliberations on the law-enforcement agencies'
activities and
respective research studies in Russia and abroad, author emphasizes that prime subjects
of criminal
terrorism and its recent trends are organized crime groupings of ethnic or transnational
composition.
Certain tendencies are analyzed related to organized crime activities, including
political involvement,
intensification and internationalization. Significant criminological issues and tendencies
are discussed in
this context, along with impact of globalization, new developments in criminal practices
arising under
influence of global processes.
