Many employers would say that taking on employees is a comparatively easy task. It
contrasts sharply with the problems associated with dismissal, whether that be for
conduct, capability, redundancy or some other reason. The law relating to dismissal
is complex and can be confusing; it has certainly led over the last few years to
growing numbers of industrial tribunals. Argues that getting it right at the beginning,
at the recruitment and employment stage, can minimize problems at later stages and
is certainly important in ensuring that an organization has the workforce it needs
to meet its objectives.
