"Looking into Urals kolkhoses' life of 1930's" (by Vladimir Filatov) presents authors observations
gained through studying minutes of the collective meeting in Urals kolkhoses in 1930's focusing on the
subject matter of the speeches by different categories of meeting participants. Most of the speeches had
dwelt with the issues of labor organization, deliveries of the products to the state, distribution of income,
and consolidating labor discipline. Collective-farm meetings feature low level of participation by the
farmers alienated from the means of production resulting in low yields of their efforts. Speeches had been
delivered mostly by state officials, local activists, and party members.
