"Satisfaction with place of residence in small settlements: ecological factor" (by Oleg Stanek, Pavel
Starosta, and Viatsheslav Stolbov) presents attitudes of individual citizens in Bulgaria, Poland, and
Russia to place of their residence. The authors managed to empirically single out some most significant
motivations for positive attidude in this regard, including the factor of ecology - one among the leading
four factors. Intensity of pro-ecological attitude is scrutinized as well as factors determining the character
of individual pro-ecological attitudes. The findings involve mainly declarative nature of the latter
reflected in the basic tendency to blame principally inhabitants and authorities for the state of
environment in Bulgaria, and authorities in both other two countries - Poland and Russia.
