"Siberians' social and political orientations: dynamic of value orientations" {by Valentin
Nemirovskiy) analyzes the social and political orientations of Siberians. The article is based on
representative surveys in Krasnoyarsk krai between 1991 and 1998. Dynamics of social and political
orientations is analyzed as well as value contents of these orientations. It is concluded that orientations
toward authoritarian dictatorship in the country, toward a national etatist way of development have
become stronger. Socialist nostalgia has grown, too. A polarization tendency is found out in mass
consciousness between national etatist development supporters, on the one hand, and those of
authoritarian communist path, on the other.
