The Analysis of Subjective Evaluations of Normal Income and Living Standard (by Natalia Bondarenko). On the whole during 1996-2000 years nominal values of minimal living standard and normal income (in current prices) have considerably increased, approximately by 3 times. The increase was noted in all the main socio-economical groups. Inflational factor has considerably influenced this increase, but development of inflational processes leads to decreasing real consumers' demands and narrowing the structure of consumption. Thus, after August 1998 crisis normal income and living standard measured in constant prices, that is the influence of inflation being controlled, decreased during September 1998 — March 1999 approximately by /3 as compared to pre-crisis level. The decrease of inflation rate and the increase of population incomes, mainly in 2000
year, have resulted in the recovery of normal
income and living standard measured in constant
prices up to the level of 1996 year. Minimal and
normal consumers' demands themselves are differentiated
enough, since many inner factors
(structure factors) influence the forming of consumers'
demands. The principal ones are income,
type of residence, employment status. Other factors,
such as age and education have indirect
influence.
