"Social and class factor of political behavior in Russia" deals with the degrees
of influcence by Russian electorate and changes in mass political preferences. Three
field surveys (1993, 1995 and 1996) serve as empirical data bank for this purpose.
It is argued that growing significance of class factor in political behavior is caused
by class grounded support or rejection of market idea as well as by differing political
education. Electorate is getting more and more politically aware and economically
differentiated. In sum, these factors explain much of the growth in class motivated
voting. Practical and theoretical aspects of the above findings are discussed in
conclusion.
