The objectives of this unit are to:
analyse the growing importance of HRM in relation to competitive pressures facing organisations;
analyse the key trends in HRM;
examine the internal, external and international environment influences on HRM;
provide students with an overview of the strategic, managerial and operational roles of human resource management and the contribution these make to organisational effectiveness and employee well-being;
