(EPA) monitors the quality of the air; the quality of drinking, surface and ground water; ecosystem status; and the introduction of toxic or hazardous substances into the environment. It conducts research and studies to provide baseline data and to evaluate and support environmental monitoring systems. - National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) collects remote-sensed data to support climate research and to describe and measure the energy and enviromental phenomena that may contribute to climate variation and change. - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) gathers worldwide environmental data about the ocean, earth, air, space, and sun and their interactions to describe and predict the state of the physical environment.
