The article describes the development of economic thought in the works of philosophers of Antiquity and Modern Times. The conclusion is that economics has become possible due to the interaction of several factors: the emergence of a market economy, the experience of farming, trade, agriculture, reflected in the relevant texts, the development of categorical system, including the efforts of philosophers, philosophers and theoretical approaches to understanding economic processes.
