The article sets forth the findings of the Russian national survey caried out in 2010 with the support of Economic Analysis Bureau and World Bank. The citizens are not much interested in juridical help: in solving their private or business problems 70% of adult Russians can do without it. The vast majority of others turned to courts first of all for solving their family problems. The respondents, especially those who have had an experience of cour pocedures show a high level of distrust to the court, critical estimations of judicial systemainly connected with judges’ dependency in the authorities. It’s worth noting that the Russians trust in the least degree those courts which they know most of all about: the courts of general jurisdiction of various levels.
