It may include topical issues such as the European response to the upheavals in the broader Middle East, European foreign policy post-Lisbon, the external effects of the Eurozone crisis, the EU‟s role in global governance and the international implications of the return of nationalism as a political force on the European continent. Similarly, attention to the external implications of internal EU developments such as the push towards a (Digital) Single Market and creation of the space of freedom and security are welcomed. The EUIA Conference will be open to all relevant disciplines and sub-disciplines, including international and European law, international political economy, economics, political science, international relations and history. It will also continue to foster exchange between the scientific and the policy communities, especially through keynote addresses by senior policy makers and a number of policy-link events featuring academics as well as policy makers.
