AB  - Статья посвящена анализу политических настроений в странах СНГ, в том 
числе, "Оранжевой" революции в Украине. Post-Soviet power mechanisms 
have been everywhere constructed out of the remnants of the Soviet 
social institutions, of organizational and personnel resources (party 
and economic, power, etc.) of the former order. The consequence has 
been forming up a number of authoritarian, pseudo-democratic, or 
"semi-Asian" (imitating historical patterns of Eastern despotic 
states) regimes characterized by personal power, fusing political 
structures with "close" big business, with regional and kinship 
clans, the corruption of all links of state mechanism being 
inevitable. The present "orange" and the like upheavals surrounding 
Russia irrespective of their national forms, degree of organization, 
successfulness, etc. confirm inevitability of substitution of all 
these "temporal" socio-political constructions with stable modern 
institutions. It is the necessity of such changes that is connected 
with demands for changes in the ruling elites.
