|Цели и задачи||
The aims of the Institute are the study of Public Finance and Public Economics, research in these fields, and the establishment of contacts and exchange of opinions on these problems among persons of all nationalities. Membership of the IIPF has grown steadily and now stands at over 1,000 members from more than seventy countries. In an academic area which is becoming increasingly specialized, the IIPF seeks to generate intellectual interchanges among all who research, teach or practice in the fields of Public Finance and Public Economics. Members are from universities and from the civil service, and from industrialized as well as developing countries.
In collaboration with the journal editors, the congress program committee selects a number of congress papers for publication as a supplementary issue of the journal International Tax and Public Finance. Usually, an effort is also made to publish an additional selection of congress proceedings in book form.

The major activity of the Institute is its annual Congress in which the IIPF promotes academic debates and exchanges of opinions on topics of common interest, and contributes to the worldwide dissemination of the results of scholarly work and of practical experiences. The IIPF aims at achieving high scholarly standards in both the selection of topics and their debates; it fosters discussions of topics of practical relevance, issues of implementation as well as of principle. Attendance at the congresses ranges from 200 to 400. The annual congresses are held in a different country every year, at the invitation of members who take responsibility for the local organisation. Congress themes are chosen for their intellectual and topical interest. The annual congress also includes a number of "Open Sessions" where scholars working in the field of Public Finance and Public Economics can present their ongoing work to international colleagues. The scientific preparation of each congress is entrusted to a program committee appointed for this purpose.
