"New approaches to sociology of education" (by Valeriy Nechaev) put a stress on the significance of the
social communication approach for a theoretical reconsideration of the educational issues. This method
permits to clarify contours of education structures and functions. The education is no longer seen as a
vague 'methodically organized socialization'. More accentuated are stages in the making of education and
of its institutions such as upbringing, vocational education, and disciplining. The need to investigate such
semantics of sociological scholarship as 'sociology of education', 'social code', 'universal social code' etc.
is argued for by the author of the article.
