Political competition in Russia

русская версия

Опубликовано на портале: 06-02-2007
"Political competition in Russia" discusses the issues of Russia's political system in the making, in particular, influences of competing political parties and movements. Using a scheme proposed by G. Almond (divisions left vs right, liberal vs. conservative etc.), an analysis is made of the trends in Russians' changing political preferences. While acknowledging that Russia's political system is by far incomplete, the trends in the changing electoral (1993, 1995, 1999) preferences allow for a suggestion that typical proportion in influence for the radical, liberal, conservative etc. parties is to become soon a characteristic for Russia as it is for the developed democracies now.
