Тематический раздел:
The article investigates innovation activities of enterprises, and the impact both of intra-firm features and external determinants of business climate on these activities in transitional economies. Special attention is paid to administrative barriers and accompanying corruption burden in the case of innovative firms. Empirical analysis was held on the basis of “Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey” (BEEPS — joint initiative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank) data base for 2009 year. Two econometric models were used: the ordered logistic regression and the generalized ordered logistic regression. Analysis revealed steady correlation between increase of administrative barriers and intensity of innovation activities, and growth of corruption costs for firms overcoming the threshold between innovative and non-innovative behavior as well.
