The case study will generally be the central focus of each class session. This course examines management of diversity at many levels and multiple arenas.The main focus of this course is the advantages and disadvantages of diversity in organizations and teams.

This course cover topics such as:

1. What are the mechanisms by which diversity emerges, disappears or is sustained?

2. What are the economic and social implications of diversity with respect to ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, gender and culture on team, and firm performance in general and on decision making and information processing in particular.

3. What advantages can a diverse firm exploit in competing with less diverse firms?

This course will present useful analytical concepts from the disciplines of social psychology, sociology and economics.

It is imperative that managers have an understanding of the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship and the skills and competencies to apply this knowledge effectively.
